Chafford Mill, Fordcombe, Kent, the first mill on the list for those starting their tramp at Maidstone. It was typical of the small rural mills that flourished in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Chafford Mill closed in 1913 and the buildings were pulled down in the early 1930's.
